Guide to calling, emailing, and messaging individual supporters
Calls
Admins, captains, and vice-captains can call supporters individually via SupporterBase.
Choose who to call
- In the left-hand navigation, click Supporter Groups.
- Select the group that contains the supporter(s) you want to call.
- From the supporter's profile, click the Call action (top right).

Connect the call
After selecting Call, you will receive a phone call on your registered mobile. Answer, and you will be patched through directly to the supporter.
Billing
You will not be charged personally. Calls are billed via your organization's SupporterBase subscription.
To update your number, go to Edit My Profile (click your name in the left-hand navigation).

Log the contact
After your call ends, you will be prompted to record the details:
- Was the call answered?
- Did you confirm or update RSVP details?
- Any notes from the conversation (free text field).

SMS
For 1-to-1 communication, you can send individual SMS to supporters. Available to admins, captains, and vice-captains.
- Go to your supporter group's main page.
- Find the supporter you want to message and click Send SMS.
- Type your message in the pop-up form.
- Hit Send.


Check your inbox
Remember to check your SMS inbox for replies so you can continue the conversation. For more detail on how the inbox works, see our SMS and Email inbox guide.

Admins, captains, and vice-captains can also send personalized 1-1 emails.
Go to your supporter group's main page.
Find the supporter you want to email by:
- Using the search bar (top right).
- Filtering supporters (dropdown menus at the top).
- Sorting by first name, last name, or most recent contact.
- Or scrolling manually.
Open the supporter's profile and select Send Email (top right).
Greyed out?
If the Send Email option is greyed out, the supporter has unsubscribed. See our unsubscribe documentation.
Complete the pop-up email form: sender name, subject, and message body.
Hit Send.
